Merry Christmas

As soon as I saw this week's sketch I knew I would be using the fabulous Poinsettia Die-namics. I die-cut the poinsettia in Red Hot and Gumdrop Green card stock. I used the gorgeous Candy Land patterened paper along the bottom of the card, I finished things off with a sentiment from the Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set.

Have a Holly Jolly Holiday

We are back with a few of our favourite friends to take another look at Christmas release. For my card today, I went for a rainbow themed forest of trees. I stamped the a tree from the Trio of Trees stamp set in a rainbow of colors. Each tree was pearched perfectly on the snow drift. I just love seeing all that color!

I used the Snow Flurry stencil and Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink to create the snowfall on the bright blue sky.

Merry Christmas Wreath

I hope you have throughly enjoyed the release countdown this past week. I have another fun holiday project to share with you today. It features the fabulous Poinsettia Die-namics.

To create the wreath I wrapped a wreath cardboard frame in burlap. To secure the burlap I used a hot glue gun, I use the glue every fourth or fifth time I wrap the wreath to keep the burlap secure. I only use the glue on the back side of the wreath, which keeps the fron looking good.

I die-cut the poinsettias in Electric Red and Whip Cream felt. I tend to cut two to three of the large poinsettias, and two of the smaller ones to make one large poinsettia. This will give you a nice full flower. For the smaller poinsettias, I usually die-cut two or three. I adhere the flowers together with hot glue. For the centers I used Gold Sparkle card stock. I tried to cut felt for the centers, but the dies are just too small and the card stock seemed to hold up better. The leaves were die-cut in Jellybean Green Felt.

For the banner I used the Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner Die-namics and the Stitched Alphabet Die-namics. I cut two full sets of the banners, on one set I back the card stock with adhesive before I die-cut them. I adhere the letters to the front of one set of the banners. I then lay the pieces out with the letters facing down. I pull off the adhesive backing and place the Hemp Cord along the top of the banners. I then add the second banner on top of each piece and adhere them together.  Doing it this way provides a nice strong base for the banners and it holds the cord securely.

Thank you so much for joining me again today. I hope you learned a tip or two. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog to see all the amazing creations the design team has to share with you today.

Sweet Winter Wishes

We have another fabulous color challenge for you this week.  You may not think of Wild Wisteria, Limelight, and Blu Raspberry as a Christmas color combination, but it is one of my favorites for holiday cards. I used the fabulous Filled with Joy Die-namics to create this sweet holiday card.

The sentiment is from the Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set.

I sponged the edges with the coordinating color of Premium Dye Ink.

The tags were die-cut with the Stitched Traditional Tag Die-namics, I sponged Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink along the edges of the tags to give them that snowy feel. I used three of the sentiments from the Hand-Lettered Holiday Greetings stamp set on the tags. I finished off the tags with some sparkling gold twine.

The hat was created with the gorgeous Black Velvet Paper. I used Shaded Lilac, Tumbled Glass, and Twisted Citron Oxide Ink, along with Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink and the Snowfall Background to create the background. I love using non-traditional Christmas colors.

For my next card, I went for a completely different color palette. I created the background with Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Abandoned Coral Oxide Ink.
