You're Fintastic

Our Hits & Highlights challenge this month is all about making a splash this summer. I decided to create a fun ocean card. I stamped the shark from the Beach Buds stamp set and I colored it with Copics. I fussy cut out the shark instead of using the die for this card. I placed the shark in a pool of ocean water created with Pool, Mermaid, and Stream Alcohol Ink. I stamped the little fishes in Ranger Archival Ink. I LOVE the way the water turned out.

Spoil Yourself

We have a fabulous color challenge for you this month! I grabbed my Gift Bags Die-namics and went to work! This is such a fun die to play with. I used a sentiment from the Gift Card Greetings stamp set. I'll add a gift card to the inside of the card when I send it out.

As you can see the card is a little longer than the standard size, I love creating cards this length, it's fun to change things up!

Bursting with Happy Birthday Wishes

The new Bundle of Balloons Card Kit is available now! Quick, go get yours before they sell out.

My card today is filled with a glittery balloon bouquet.  I die-cut a number of balloons in each of the eight gorgeous colors of glitter paper included in the Bundle of Balloons card kit. I added some Copic Opaque White to each of the balloons, this didn't actually turn out as well as I was hoping! The paint seemed to move around on the glitter card stock a bit more than I had expected. I will definitely be trying a few other mediums on the glitter card stock.

I finished off the card with a sentiment from the new Bundle of Balloons stamp set. This set is full of fabulous birthday sentiments.

Birthday Girl

I'm back with a few more Bundle of Balloons card kit cards to share. The new Bundle of Balloons Card Kit will be available Tuesday, July 24 at 9pm EST.

For my cards today, I die-cut the balloons from a sheet of Yupo that was covered in a rainbow alcohol ink. On this first card I used the blues, purples, and greens portion of the sheet. I also used the new Free with $60 die, Birthday Boy & Girl for the sentiment. I know that I am going to get a ton of use out of this die! I framed the balloons with a Single Stitch Line Tag-Corner Rectangle.

On the second card I used the oranges, yellows, and reds portion of the Yupo sheet. I love the look of the bright balloons on the light blue sky. I finished off the card with a sentiment from the Bundle of Balloons stamp set. I added a touch of white to the balloons on both cards with a white pencil.

Get Ready to Sparkle

Are you ready for another amazing card kit? This month's kit is all about balloons, birthday, and glitter! The new Bundle of Balloons card kit will be available Tuesday, July 24 at 9pm EST.

Check out these gorgeous glitter balloons. The new Bundle of Balloons card kit includes eight gorgeous colors of glitter card stock, and I used all eight on this card. I added a touch of white to each balloon to show where the light hits it. This helps to give the balloons a little extra shape. The sentiment is from the new Bundle of Balloons stamp set is full of fabulous birthday sentiments.

My second card is a simple one. I die-cut the balloons in the gorgeous glitter card stock that comes in the kit. The balloon strings were die-cut in Black Licorice card stock. I didn't add the white light to these balloons and you can see how much of a difference adding that little bit of white makes.

Throw Confetti Like It’s Your Birthday

Our Birthday Project this month is all about confetti! You know the stuff that you sprinkle around that looks so pretty but ends up showing up in weird places for the next few months. Thankfully confetti on cards usually stays put. :)

For my card today I created a fun Martini Shaker, filled with crystals. The martini and the confetti were both die-cut from a sheet of Yupo paper colored with a few of my favourite alcohol inks. I finished off the card with a sentiment from the fabulous Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings.

A Trio of Mini Balloon Shakers

We have a few special friends joining the MFT design team today as we take another look at the amazing July release. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog to see all the gorgeous creations the team has to share with you.

For my project today I used the fabulous Mini Balloon Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics. You can easily fit a trio of these on the front of a card.

I filled the Mini Balloons with Nuvo Peacock Confetti and Diamonds. The confetti is simply gorgeous, but you will want to rub the inside of the balloons with a dryer sheet first to prevent the confetti from sticking to everything.

The sentiment is from the new MFT Signature set, Sassy Pants Birthday Greetings. This set is FULL of fabulous sentiments that you will use again and again.

I Love Books

I have another trio of bookmarks to share with you today. They were created using a set of templates that you can find in the MFT Resources Section

I stitched the first bookmark with DMC floss 307, 931, 842,  3801, 3819, and B5200. As you can see, it can be a little hard to distinguish each of the books. In the next photo, I outlined each of the books in a light brown, DMC 840. I used only one thread, instead of the normal six. Outlining images in a slightly darker color really helps them to pop.

Can you see the difference that outlining the books makes? It really doesn't take that long to do, but it makes a huge difference.

I added a topper to each of the bookmarks, I picked three colors of card stock that coordinated with the DMC floss.

I then stamped a sentiment from the Our Story stamp set to the top of each bookmark. This really is the perfect sentiment for a bookmark.

The Cross-Stitched Bookmark Die-namics includes a little rectangle reinforcement. Adding this little accent to your bookmarks adds an extra splash of color. Before I die-cut these, I add the adhesive to the back of card stock. This makes adhering them to the bookmark a breeze.

Thank you so much for joining me again today. I hope you learned a tip or two. Be sure to check out the MFT Blog to see all the amazing creations the design team has to share with you today.
