Stylin' with Stencils

Stencils may not get the same recognition as stamps and dies but believe me, they simply can’t be beat in terms of versatility. Their flexibility and durability make them the perfect choice for adding color and texture with any number of mediums and with close to 70 different options in two different sizes available in the MFT shop, you’re sure to find the perfect design for your next project. This month, our team is inspiring you to play with stencils.

For my first card I sponged ink over the Equalizer Stencil to create this fun background. I used Lemon Chiffon, Daffodil, Lemon Drop, Orange Fizz, Tangy Orange Premium Dye Ink. The fun Headphones were die-cut in Black Licorice card stock.

On the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Keep on Rockin' stamp set and I added another small Headphones Die-namics.

For this second card, I embossed the card front with the Square Tiles Stencil. Embossing is one of my favourite techniques to do with stencils.

The flowers are from the new Lisa Johnson Circle Scribble flower. The flowers were stamped on Ripe Raspberry and Lemon Chiffon card stock, the leaves on Limelight card stock. The Totally Happy sentiment was stamped on Stitched Fishtail Flag.

On the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Totally Happy stamp set. I also added another Circle Scribble flower.
