I've Been Looking For You!

I've been enjoying a wonderful vacation this past week. I've toured around our gorgeous island and I even managed to find some stamping time. I'm a lucky girl! I grabbed a few of my favourite new products and the Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch, and this card came together in no time!

I can't seem to put away my Geek Is Chic Glasses, I just LOVE them! For this card, I die-cut them in Red Hot and Berrylicious card stock. I added a few hearts from the Heart Doily Die-namics and a thick layer of Crystal Effects to give them that shine.

The sentiments are from the Geek is Chic stamp set, they were both stamped in Berrylicious Hybrid Ink. I used the Blueprints 10 Die-namics to create the curved background panel and I stamped it with the Star Background.

Watercolor Wonder

I hope you are all enjoying these last few weeks of summer. I definitely had summer on my mind when I designed these first two cards for this month's Creative Challenge. Our challenge this month was to delve into watercoloring.

I stamped a number of flowers and leaves from the Sweet Roses stamp set on the water-colour paper with Versamark ink. The images were all embossed with with white embossing powder.

I used Lemon Drop, Orange Fizz, and Tangy Orange Premium Dye Ink to color the yellow and orange flowers. The pink flowers were coloured with Cotton Candy and Razzle Berry Premium Dye Inks and the leaves were coloured with Sour Apple and Jellybean Green.

When watercoloring the flowers and leaves, I started with the lighter colours of ink and then added in the darker colors.

Once the ink was dry, I lightly rubbed over the embossed images with a piece of paper towel. This helps to remove any ink residue from the embossing powder.  I then die-cut the flowers and leaves with the Roses and Leaves Die-namics.

I stamped the sentiments from the Sweet Roses stamp set in Black Licorice Hybrid Ink.

Since fall will be here before we know it, I decided it was time to break out the Fall Leaves for my final card.

To create the leaves I used the Fall Leaves Die-namics to die-cut some Watercolor card stock. Using a water brush, I coloured the leaves with Lemon Drop, Safety Orange, Orange Fizz, Brick Red, Kraft, Jellybean Green, and Chocolate Brown Premium Dye Ink Refills. Once the leaves were dry, I stamped them with the Thankful Leaves stamp set.

I stamped the Primitive Cream card stock with the Linen Background in Natural Hybrid Ink. I added the script in Chocolate Brown Hybrid Ink. Each cluster of leaves with tied together with a Chocolate Brown Button and Hemp Cord.

Another Birthday Card

I seem to be on a roll with birthday cards this week! I have another one for you today, this one is based on this week's MFTWSC sketch. I love the curvy shape of this sketch.

I stamped the Wild Cherry card stock with the Happy Birthday Background stamp. It's a little hard to see, but trust me, it's there. I used the Fishtail Flags STAX and the Fishtail Flags Layers STAX to die-cut the card stock for the sentiment. The sentiment is from the Celebrate Big stamp set. I stamped the sentiment in Nightshift Blue Hybrid Ink.

The curved pieces were die-cut with a piece from the Blueprints 16 Die-namics. This set of dies is full of so many fun shapes!

I added a touch of sparkle to the circle and star accents.
