It's All About Stripes

Our Creative Challenge this month is all about stripes! MFT has so many fabulous dies, stamps, and stencils that you can use to create stripes on your projects. I had a hard time choosing which products to use!

For my first card, I used the new Stripes Cover-Up Die-namics. Using Sno Cone Hybrid Ink, I stamped a piece of Sno Cone card stock with the Linen Background stamp. I then die cut the card stock with the Stripes Cover-Up die. With this die, every other stripe stays attached to the main frame, the other stripes all fall out. I sponged Sno Cone ink on the stripes that fell out and I adhered them back into place. The subtle inking helps to highlight the individual stripes.

The large butterfly was die-cut with the Fancy Butterflies Die-namics. Both pieces were die-cut in Grapesicle card stock. The top piece received a thick layer of Sheer Sparkle Glitter Glaze.

The sentiment was stamped on a piece of Kraft card stock that was die-cut with the Pierced Fishtail Flags Die-namics. I finished off the flag with a few buttons and some hemp cord.

The inside of the card features a sentiment and butterfly from the Winged Beauties stamp set.

I went bright and bold for my second card! I paired the Diagonal Stripes Stencil with Lemon Drop, Orange Fizz, and Razzle Berry Hybrid Ink to create this fun background. I sponged on the ink, making sure to overlap the colors to ensure the transition between colors was smooth.

The Hello TRANSFORM-ables die produced the perfect sentiment for this card. I die-cut the sentiment in both Razzle Berry and Lemon Drop card stock.

On the inside of the card, I added a sentiment from the Smile stamp set and a die-cut from the TRANSFORM-ables Smile Die-namics.

  7. Yes! I totally agree with your second sentence! ;) Love both cards. The subtle coloring on the stripes really makes the whole background pop. Love how you layered the horizontal cover up with the frame. Love the touch of sparkle on the butterfly, too. The second card is just an explosion of color and fun! Love it!
